At first glance, BizArtE might seem like your typical school fair. But behind the vibrant booths showcasing everything – from food to sustainable products to wellness kits to trinkets – lies something far more meaningful: a reflection of Learning Links Academy’s deep commitment to innovation, entrepreneurship, and holistic learning among its students. Happening this May 3, 2025, the annual event brings together students from Grades 1 to 12 to demonstrate youth creativity through the combined lenses of business and the arts.
Creating a Culture of Innovation in the Classroom (and Beyond!)
BizArtE is not a stand-alone event, but a fun and practical demonstration of the school’s commitment to creating leaders through multifaceted learning, and with entrepreneurship and innovation as key pillars. From as early as Grade 1 and all the way to 12, students are consistently challenged to think critically, collaborate meaningfully, and build things that reflect both their creativity and their character. The fair is not only a
culmination of months of work, but also years of values anchored in project-based learning and cross-disciplinary integration in the classroom. In every subject, innovation is embedded as a mindset, encouraging them to connect the dots between concepts and the world around them. One example of how business is seamlessly integrated in each subject is the Grade 3 “Busy Bees” project where students conduct research and write a story in English, have a field study in bee farms in Science, and study the timeline of honey production in Math. Meanwhile, Grade 12 students get
bolder opportunities by developing their own startup ventures, supported by the school’s internal store where they can prototype and test their ideas in real-time. The school creates an ecosystem wherein innovation is encouraged. “The opportunities and activities that the school provides allows students’ holistic development,” says LLA’s Principal, Teacher Agnes. “Students experience integration of different disciplines and are able to apply the concepts they learn through projects. All students are given equal opportunities and parents value the partnership we have.”
Learning by Doing: Turning Ideas Into Reality
At BizArtE, students aren’t just presenting projects—they’re creating real brands and pitching to a live audience. Along the way, they’re guided by mentors across subjects, from Math and Science to Language and the Arts. Ultimately, this integrated approach allows students to build essential life skills: creative problem-solving, collaboration, and adaptability. These are traits that are key to fostering lifelong success and ambition despite the fact that they don’t always show up on a traditional report card. One of our students, JP Adriano, shares that entrepreneurial experience:
“Taught me the value of dedication and the satisfaction that comes from setting and achieving goals. It reinforced my passion for creating and selling my art, and I look forward to applying what I learned in future events.”
When you show students the power of what their minds and hands can create, they are able to see how far their passions and ideas can take them. The result is a fair like BizArtE, where the products are as diverse and creative as the students who built them.
Entrepreneurship as a Life Skill
At LLA, entrepreneurial skills aren’t just for the future CEOs, but are a key tool for personal growth and success. Students learn to take risks, bounce back from failure, and pursue their ideas with strategy and heart. More importantly, they are able to take what they learn in the classroom and take into whatever endeavor they pursue. As one teacher puts it:
“Our students know what they are capable of doing, they are aware of what their strengths are and so they are able to express their ideas confidently and work on their weaknesses as well. They are not afraid of challenges and are always ready to take what is offered to them.”
As a result, we are training confident goal oriented individuals who are able to work effectively and inspire others to do the same. Whether they go on to start a business, or pursue another path, these are the lessons and mindset they’ll carry with them to succeed wherever they go.
